Thalgo Perfect Glow BB Cream

Thalgo Perfect Glow BB Cream

Thalgo is a range I have vaguely heard of but never tried so when one of my favourite online beauty stores had the BB cream on sale I decided to give it a go!

I am a fan of BB creams for myself when I’m not working but still want something on my skin. Since I suffered from adult acne through my late twenties and what felt like most of my thirties spending much of that time using full cover foundations, when I came through the other side to clear skin I have felt the need for less and less cover. I like to use something that gives a little cover, as I still need some, but looks natural and leaves my sin looking radiant! No pressure then!

So firstly a bit about the brand and their BB.

Since 1964, Thalgo Laboratories have been creating Marine Products for Spa and Beauty
Working closely with renowned phycologists, the Thalgo Research Centre is the undisputed expert in Marine Intelligence, with over 50 marine active principles identified, extracted and concentrated in exclusive ingredients with unrivalled properties. Each Thalgo product is a genuine concentrate of marine effectiveness, created according to stringent standards of performance, total affinity with the skin and ultimate sensory experience to offer Professional Excellence to every woman in the world. Created from the sea, Thalgo has a duty to minimise its ecological footprint. Our Commitment to Nature is at the very core of the brand’s DNA and guides all stages of our developments for Safe Beauty and a more beautiful nature. This philosophy positions Thalgo as the World Leader in Professional Marine Cosmetics.

The BB cream is for someone wanting light cover which moisturises and adds radiance and also has a SPF. This BB cream restores radiance to the skin with a unique combination of Vitapulp, an unprecedented active ingredient that seems to visibly breathe new substance into the skin, and micro-prisms benefiting from the technology of “correction through coloured light”. Its skin-embracing texture with coated pigments softens imperfections and irregularities, moisturises the skin and provides effective protection against UV rays for a perfect velvety finish.
Available in 3 shades : Ivory, Natural, Golden

Here’s how I found it!

Firstly I chose the colour Natural as I have a light tan right now and thought fair would be too light at the moment. As there are only 3 shades this usually means that the colours are quite adaptable and will match a range of skin tones.

The first thing I noticed when I applied the cream was the gorgeous fresh smell, a nod to the marine extracts in the ingredients, however there is also added perfume so maybe not one for the ultra sensitive skins. Although this was a moisturising cream I didn’t find it too greasy which was my main worry as I do get a shiny t zone and didn’t want to use powder with it. The cream blended beautifully with both fingers and I buffed with a finishing brush to keep it looking super natural and blend the colour well. The finish was dewy but not shiny and lasted well all day, with no powdering. I didn’t feel too shiny until well into the end of the day and so just blotted my nose with a tissue to take off a bit of shine. I liked the way it felt on my skin, it had a feel of moisture and kept my skin feeling soft and hydrated, as even though I do get shine in my t zone I do also get a little dehydtasred elsewhere. The other noticeable improvement to my skin was a subtle lift in tone, whereas without anything on my skin it can look a bit dull and flat it looked brighter and definitely had more radiance, I found a glow!

Her are my before and after pictures, very subtle difference so still natural but definitely an improvement!
